SYS Celebrates 30 Years in the Yacht Brokerage Industry
The Florida Yacht Brokers Association (FYBA) held its annual meeting and dinner on January 23, 2016 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL. The event brought together over 200 active members of Florida’s yachting industry. Several of its Board Members were honored for their many years of service and commitment.
Gary Smith, SYS Senior Partner & President of FYBA, delivered a state of the industry address that recounted FYBA’s accomplishments in 2016. This is Gary’s final year as President. He ended the evening by thanking all those who’ve remained committed to bettering Florida’s yacht community.
“Those who are a part of the FYBA family are united in working towards a higher purpose beyond personal achievement. That is to elevate the level of professionalism and cooperation among our members and to maintain a high standard of conduct within the brokerage business. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation for your shared passion and enthusiasm in achieving this goal.
My days as President of FYBA are coming to an end after two very quick and gratifying years. It is truly my great honor to have served and I am especially thankful for the opportunity to work alongside such a dynamic group of board members and staff.

Gary will continue to serve on the Board of Directors and select committees within the association.
